What we collect, and what we refuse to.
This page explains what happens to information when you use this website. We have tried to write it so it can actually be read. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will answer plainly.
The short version
We collect very little, and we sell none of it
- If you write to us through the form, we receive what you typed.
- We count visits to pages so we can tell whether the work is reaching anyone.
- We never record clicks on the crisis hotline or 911 links.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not run advertising on this site.
When you write to us
The contact form
If you fill in the form on our contact page, we receive the name, email address, and message you entered, along with your church or organization and your role if you chose to add them. That message is emailed to us and stored by our website host so we can reply.
We use it to answer you and to keep a record of who has asked about training. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone else.
You can also simply email josh@ezerministries.org directly. Nothing on this site is required in order to reach us.
While you read
What is measured automatically
We use Google Analytics to count visits. It records which pages were opened, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what kind of device and browser was used, and whether you arrived from a search engine or a link somewhere else.
It does not tell us who you are. We do not know your name, and we cannot connect a visit to a person.
We have turned off the parts of Google Analytics built for advertising. There is no advertising personalization, no cross-device identity tracking, and no advertising data shared with Google from this site.
A deliberate choice
What we refuse to collect
Clicks on the National Domestic Violence Hotline number and on 911 links are never recorded — not as a statistic, not as an anonymous event, not at all.
This was not an oversight we are describing after the fact. It is written into the code of this website with a note explaining why, and we switched off the setting in Google Analytics that would have logged those clicks anyway.
Someone reaching for a crisis line is not a number for us to report to a funder. We would rather know less.
Other companies
Who else is involved
Running a website means relying on other people's servers. These are the ones that see anything:
- Netlify
- Hosts this site and receives contact form submissions. Their servers log visits, including IP addresses, as nearly all web servers do.
- Google Analytics
- Provides the visit counts described above.
- Google Fonts
- The typefaces on this site load from Google's servers, which means Google's servers see the request. This is worth naming even though it is invisible.
- Zeffy
- Runs the donation form on our Give page. If you give, your payment details go to Zeffy and their payment processor, never to us. We see the donor name and amount, not your card. Their privacy policy governs that form.
Cookies and retention
What is stored, and for how long
Google Analytics sets a small cookie in your browser so that two page views in a row are counted as one visit rather than two. You can block it with your browser settings or a content blocker, and the site will work exactly the same.
We keep website analytics for the shortest period Google Analytics permits. We keep messages you send us for as long as we need them to reply and to keep an honest record of the ministry's work.
Your choices
Asking us to delete something
Write to josh@ezerministries.org and ask. We will tell you what we have, and we will delete it if you want it gone. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
We are a small ministry rather than a large company. There is no form for this and no department. A person reads the email.
Important

The National Domestic Violence Hotline is free and available at any hour: 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
The most likely risk to you is not this website. It is the record your own device keeps. Visiting this site leaves an entry in your browser history, and a message you send us may appear in your sent mail. Someone with access to your phone or computer could see either.
If that is a concern, consider using a private or incognito window, a device an abusive person cannot reach, or a public library computer. The hotline above can talk through this with you, and they are better at it than we are.
This ministry is not a confidential service. We are not counselors, lawyers, or advocates, and email to us is not privileged. Please use the hotline for anything urgent.
